In May 2014 we spent 2 amazing weeks working on the latest 3D IMAX Movie from National Geographic, ROBOTS 3D! Now showing at the Science Museum London and throughout the world at 3D IMAX theatres, the film was shot on multiple locations in UK, Japan and USA.
DOGBITE provided full production support, including crewing, location and kit hire services for the principle photography filming, shot here in Cornwall, South West UK.
The movie was filmed in 3D, which meant everything was shot twice, using state of the art 3D rigs. Working with BBStratus at the flying helm – shooting on RED Epic with the SKYJIB 8 HL; camera moves provided by John Crooks we captured stunning scenes along the Cornish North Coast.
ROBOTS 3D is a fascinating and fun look at what makes us human, how far machines can really go to look and act like us, and how humanoids are already changing our world. DOGBITE were asked to work alongside the US production team, Days End Pictures, providing full production + location services for the principle photography here in the UK.
Bringing the magic of Hollywood to Cornwall, DOGBITE delivered the coordination of the principle photography, Location licensing, unit moves of kit, cast, crew and Robots across Chapel Porth, Carn Brea, Falmouth + Penryn.
Through our wide network of contacts we provided a kick ass team, including art department, Drone Op, camera assistant, Focus Puller, gaffer, grip, best boy, 2nd AD, drivers, catering and production co-ordinators. We had a great time working with the US team who gave DOGBITE the opportunity to showcase our talents to the world.
So, if you’re after breath-taking locations, amazing weather and professional crewing services, provided at a competitive rate, look no further than Cornwall and the team at DOGBITE.
