Roughcut 90 Second Film Challenge

After a hugely successful sold out run of screenings here at the Doghouse; DOGBITE’S own Studio, in Jan 2015 the event upgraded capacity and the Plaza Truro played the very welcome host of O-Region’s Roughcut 90 Second Film Challenge.  A short film night of mini 90 second masterpieces from some of the region’s most talented aspiring and established film makers.

The guys at O-Region had an incredible response to the competition, with work being submitted from all ages and covering every genre. The night itself was a sell out, with a full house of eager film fans. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the thriving film scene in Cornwall and to check out work from the next generation gearing up to take over the reins.

The Young Person’s Film Award went to the very talented Emily Llewelyn for her eerily chilling You Know that Feeling.

First Prize was awarded to the hilarious and beautifully animated Cornish Conversations 2 by Rachel Jones and Megan Clarke.

And finally, the Audience Award went to 9 year old Max Morrison and Family who delighted the crowd with their quirky and undeniably Cornish Obbin Up the Brea.

The Ninety Second Film Challenge is set to be an annual event so if you didn’t get to enter this year, you’ll have another chance soon.

A huge thank you to all the film makers who took part and the folks who came along for the big screening… We’re already looking forward to next year’s!
